6 Things Elon Musk's Grok-2 AI Chatbot Can Do That ChatGPT Can't

You may already know that Elon Musk launched his new artificial intelligence company, xAI, in July 2023. However, what you might not be aware of is that xAI's latest AI model, **Grok-2**, is gradually being rolled out to premium users on the X platform (formerly Twitter). Compared to other large language models (LLMs), its advantage lies in training on billions of tweets and real-time data from X.

Recently, **XXAI** updated a new version integrating Grok-2. After researching and referencing some of Rowan Cheung's introductions, along with my own personal experience, I've summarized six things that Grok-2 can do but ChatGPT cannot.

1. Real-Time Search on the X Platform

**Grok-2** can access real-time information on X, which makes perfect sense. The X platform boasts a massive content database from millions of sources, something other LLMs like ChatGPT don't have. While we haven't yet seen how xAI selects which data to provide to Grok, it's likely based on tweets with high views and engagement rates—essentially, the most performing content.

Since 2006, Twitter has averaged about 200 billion tweets per year. This provides Grok-2 with an enormous potential data pool, including content from scholars, high-profile individuals, and news media—data that other LLMs cannot access.

2. Unfiltered Image Generation

Through integration with **FLUX**, Grok-2 can generate unfiltered images—a capability that ChatGPT and DALL·E 3 lack. This means Grok-2 can create images of real people, including celebrities and political figures, and can produce images that might contain sensitive or controversial content. Additionally, it seems to have fewer restrictions when generating images that could potentially infringe on copyrights or trademarks.

If you feel limited by the images generated by ChatGPT or are unsatisfied with their outputs, Grok-2 can help you break new ground. However, it's essential to scrutinize the content you encounter online more carefully, as the proliferation of this feature may lead to an increase in deceptive images.

3. Dual Modes: Regular and "Fun"

With Grok-2, you have access to two modes: regular mode and a "fun" mode. While similar to the standard Grok model, the chatbot's fun mode possesses a more unique personality. Rowan Cheung claims it's "more entertaining than ChatGPT's bland responses." By utilizing an LLM with a sense of humor, you can enjoy a more vibrant interactive experience. It might offer you some ingenious ideas that ChatGPT hasn't thought of, helping you expand your business horizons.

4. Quoting Tweets

"Not only can Grok summarize news, but it can also quote the tweets from which it gathers data," Cheung explains. Anyone who has used ChatGPT for important information knows how crucial citations are. Grok's exclusive access to X data gives it a significant advantage in this area. Cheung believes, "It would be really cool to see highly quoted tweets receive revenue sharing."

ChatGPT typically doesn't provide any citations, but this feature allows for better fact-checking and tracing content back to its original source. In this regard, Grok-2 is more akin to Perplexity.

5. Direct Integration with the X Platform

Grok-2 is directly integrated into the X platform and has its own tab on both the web and mobile versions. For avid X users, this is a significant benefit. Each post also features an "Ask Grok" button, allowing you to summarize any post's content in seconds. If you spend a lot of time on X, having your LLM readily available makes perfect sense. As we enter the AI-native era, we not only want to avoid constantly switching between apps but also demand higher functionality from every tool.

6. Roasting X Accounts

Yes, you read that correctly! Since Grok is directly integrated with X, you can ask it to roast any X account—even requesting their all-time worst tweets. You'll need to set Grok to "fun" mode to use this feature. This function offers some entertainment value but also showcases Grok-2's capabilities, undoubtedly encouraging users to try out this new LLM. Are you bold enough to let it roast your tweets?

Grok-2 vs. ChatGPT: Who Comes Out on Top?

xAI claims: "At the time of writing this blog, its performance surpasses Claude 3.5 Sonnet and GPT-4-Turbo." However, in my opinion, Grok-2 isn't better than ChatGPT in most cases. As Cheung mentioned: "If you're using it for any of the purposes above, then yes, but overall, not yet. OpenAI is still ahead in the LLM race, although xAI is seriously closing the gap."

If you're a premium user of the X platform, you'll soon be able to use Grok-2 and experience the six features mentioned above, and more. It’s worth noting that **XXAI** has integrated Grok-2 and GPT-o1 in its latest version. If you're interested, you can explore the differences between these two AI models within XXAI. Additionally, the latest version of XXAI has also incorporated Gemini, Perplexity, and Llama. The monthly subscription fee remains as low as \$9.90, offering you the chance to experience more top-tier AI models at an ultra-low price.

The introduction of Grok-2 could potentially revolutionize how we use the X platform, providing a richer interactive experience. With the development of new LLMs like Grok-2, competition in the field of artificial intelligence will become fiercer, benefiting users in the process. Now is the perfect time to embrace these innovations.
